Urban Deacon Program
There are seven urban deacons in our diocese at this time. The bishop is studying options for beginning a new training program but, until a new program is functioning, he is recommending that men who are interested in becoming deacons, begin by taking Sr. Dorothy's religious education certification classes. Stephen Ministry training would also be helpful for anyone wanting to be a deacon. Let Sr. Dorothy Giloley, SSJ in the Office of Religious Education or Betty Johnson in the Office of Worship know of your interest and what you are doing on your part to prepare. They will keep track of your name and information for the bishop.
