Stephen Ministry Outreach

From the earliest days of the Church, outreach to those in need, or those who have been marginalized, has been an important part of what it means to be a follower of Christ.  Within the Diocese of Fairbanks, outreach occurs at both the diocesan and parish levels.  The Stephen Ministry Outreach office serves as a support to parishes throughout the diocese in several ways:

Stephen Ministry: The Stephen Ministry Outreach office administers Stephen Ministry, an interdenomination ministry to people experiencing various crises.  Stephen Ministry is a program found in the Fairbanks area parishes, in which Stephen Ministers, trained lay people, meet one-on-one with Catholic parishioners or others in a confidential caring relationship.

My Companion - My Friend: The My Companion - My Friend program (co-offered with the Office of Children and Family Life) offers parish requested training in various family and outreach topics to parishes throughout the diocese.
