BASIC FUNCTIONS and TYPICAL DUTIES
70 - 85% Perform general building maintenance at Peger Road campus, including Chancery, Frassati House, St. Ignatius Residence, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and warehouse plus aircraft hangar per assigned tasks. Work may include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and small remodel work in accordance and in compliance with building codes.
10% - 25% Grounds maintenance, snow removal, brush cutting, and vehicle & equipment maintenance (note ground maintenance higher in summer)
5% Assisting parishes with maintenance questions and concerns, and support other diocesan staff. Assist with shipping of materials, as needed.
• Experience in general building maintenance and/or construction projects, prefer a minimum of 5 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
• Experience should include the operation and maintenance of boilers, heating controls, air handler equipment and other parts of a mechanical system including fuel piping.
• Experience with the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including lighting and lighting upgrades.
• Knowledgeable and able to operate and maintain equipment for use in maintaining grounds and buildings.
• Excellent work habits to include attendance, punctuality, and proper use of time and equipment.
• Familiar with hazardous material handling procedures and OSHA guidelines a plus.
Able to work on a task or project with limited supervision, able to use cost effective means to solve problems.
Must be familiar with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other common computer software. Able to learn on-line work order system.
A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one before employment is required.
