Human Resources

The Human Resources office serves as a resource to priests, pastoral ministers, and employees in the recruitment, hiring, retention and termination of employees.  The Director maintains confidential employee records of all personnel in the diocese.  This office also conducts background checks on all employees as well as volunteers working with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

The Human Resource office ensures that the diocese is compliant with all federal, state and local employment laws.  This office also prepares the annual USCCB audit on the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the CARA study, and other similar reports.

The Director of Human Resources is available to mediate employee grievances.  In the event of litigation involving personnel, the Director serves as the litigation coordinator with outside counsel.  The Director of Human Resources serves on the personnel and child protection committees and advises the Bishop on employment needs and trends.
